Alan Ashkinazy – Owner
Alan Ashkinazy, a former Boston Red Sox player, founded the Greensboro Batting Center in February of 1987. Growing up on the streets of New York City, Alan brings a tough enthusiasm to the game. After graduating from The New York Institute of Technology, he played for The Greensboro Hornets in 1985 and 1986. Today, Alan’s vision of providing a top-notch training facility for players of all ages and skill levels is embodied by the Greensboro Batting Center. With a commitment to excellence, community, and the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship, we empower our athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field.

Selected to the Eastern League All-Star Team & Played in the Arizona Fall League in 2009.

AAA Pitcher in the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians Organization in 2011.
Spent 2012 and 2013 with the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League.

Corey Smith

- Played High School ball at Piscataway High School.
- All-County, All-State and All-American player and was chosen as Baseball America’s Top High School Hitter in the Country.
- Drafted in the first round of the 2000 MLB first year player draft by the Cleveland Indians.
- 15 year professional baseball playing career including time with the The Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, Los Angelas Dodgers, Los Angelas Angels, and the Kansas City Royals.
- Named to the 2014 Atlantic League All First Team while leading the Somerset Patriots in hitting and ranking fourth in the league with a .305 average, 3rd in Doubles (37), 5th in walks (65) and 5th in on-base % (.386).
- Finished the 2011 season with a .261 average and 28 extra base hits and 46 rbi’s.
- Finished the 2010 campaign with the Chattanooga Lookouts where he finished 2nd in the Southern league with 86 rbi’s and 275 hits.
- Finished the 2009 season with 22 homers and 90 RBI’s for the AA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
- Played for the Los Angeles AA team in 2008 where he led the league in home runs with 27.
Mike Baker

Coach “Bake” attended the University of Nevada on
a Baseball Scholarship. He was drafted by the Boston Redsox
and played professionally in their organtization from 1986-1989.
Mitch Atkins
(Baseball Pitching, Hitting)
Mitch is a Lifetime GBC’er. He has been playing professionally
since 2004 with the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves,
Boston Red Sox & the New York Mets. This also includes Big League stints with
both the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago Cubs.
Mitch is Currently a Member of the High Point Rockers.
